The Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic’s mission to provide quality care to the whole community is met by strong, passionate leadership. The clinic, established in a trailer in 1974, is led by executive director Jess Montoya, who has 28 years of experience in public service for county and municipal governments. Montoya joined the clinic in 2006.

In addition to improving the financial position of the clinic, Montoya’s focus is on expanding Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug services, as well as increasing medical, dental and specialty care. He has overseen the implementation of the clinic’s electronic health records in the medical department and the expansion of the 340B pharmacy program.
